Following Prithu's departure to the eternal spiritual realm, his son Vijaya took the throne and continued the righteous governance that had characterized his father's reign. Vijaya, having received extensive instruction from his father and having absorbed the spiritual culture that pervaded the kingdom, proved himself to be a capable and devoted ruler in his own right. He maintained all the spiritual institutions that Prithu had established, continued to promote the study and practice of Vedic knowledge, and governed according to the same dharmic principles that had made his father's reign so legendary. Though Vijaya did not achieve the same extraordinary fame as his father, he nonetheless successfully maintained the kingdom's prosperity and righteousness during his reign.
Vijaya's descendants continued this pattern generation after generation. Though no subsequent ruler achieved quite the legendary status of Prithu himself, the dynasty collectively maintained a level of righteous governance and spiritual commitment that was virtually unparalleled in cosmic history. The lineage became known throughout the three worlds as one where genuine devotion to the Supreme Lord and commitment to dharma were consistently prioritized over material ambition and personal power. The spiritual culture established by Prithu became institutionalized in the kingdom—it was transmitted through regular educational systems, practiced in the temples and spiritual centers throughout the realm, and modeled by successive generations of rulers.

Maitreya explained to Vidura that the story of Prithu Maharaja—his spiritual dedication, his righteous governance, his construction of temples and spiritual centers, his service to the Supreme Lord, and his ultimate achievement of the eternal spiritual realm—was eternally valuable not merely as historical information but as a teaching mechanism designed to elevate the consciousness of anyone who heard it with sincere faith.
This chapter teaches that the influence of genuinely spiritual and righteous individuals extends far beyond their lifetime and can shape the consciousness and character of entire civilizations.
